Suggestion for Eating out

People love to eat. By making smart choices, we can not just treat ourself enjoying special dishes, but also make sure that our restaurant meal fit into our healthy eating plan for the heart.

At the restaurant, even if it is not we who are in the kitchen, we are still responsible for what we eat. More and more restaurants these days are happy to accommodate individual preferences, so feel free to ask about the cooking of a dish or make special requests, like asking dressing on the side or baked potato instead of fries (avoid overloading still potato with sour cream or butter). A diet consistently high in fat, calories and sodium may increase our risk of heart disease and stroke.

Several restaurant chains now display the nutritional value of their menu, according to the Nutrition Facts table that appear on food packages. We suggest to have meal in the restaurant that has induction cooker.

Restaurants participating in the Health Check ? program provide meals that meet nutritional criteria developed by the Foundation's registered dietitians. These dishes comply with Health Check criteria are easily identifiable on the menu with the Health Check symbol. For more information, visit AT Cooker.
